Day Services Practitioner – Dementia Day Services (Grennock)

About the Role

Contract: Flexible, Permanent – 2 Positions Location: Greenock, Inverclyde

Would you like to make a difference to the lives of People Living with Dementia?

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our dementia-specific day service in Greenock, where personalised care is tailored to the unique preferences and needs of our service users.

Our day services run Monday to Friday, offering therapeutic and engaging activities focused on maintaining skills, independence, and wellbeing for individuals living with dementia.


Key Responsibilities

Our Day Services Practitioners are our cornerstone, providing essential frontline support. In this dynamic role, you will:

  • Offer compassionate and engagement-driven care, ensuring individuals remain connected to their communities.
  • Support service users in participating in their hobbies, interests, and peer networks.
  • Develop and deliver creative activities that promote brain health,yselv,]vness, and quality of life.
  • Foster independence and confidence, challenging unhelpful barriers through person-centred approaches.
  • Contribute ideas to enhance service offerings, ensuring exciting, meaningful, and brain-stimulating programmes.
  • Collaborate with a strong interdisciplinary team to provide optimal care for dementia individuals.

Person Specification

Essential

  • A Positive and proactive attitude towards supporting individuals living with dementia.
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate, nurturing approach.
  • Commitment to learning, training, and development, including completing SVQs relevant to the role.
  • SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) registration (or ability to achieve registration promptly).
  • Right to work in the UK (evidence required for shortlisting).
  • Willingness to undergo a PVG Scheme check via Disclosure Scotland (prosecution volume government).

Desirable

  • Previous experience or qualifications in dementia care, mental health, or social services.
  • Familiarity with person-centred dementia care principles.
