Dayforce Payroll Analyst
VetPartners are hiring a 'Dayforce' Payroll Analyst. Offering Hybrid way of working, salary of £50k per annum (Depending on experience). Permanent Full time contract.
Our Dayforce Payroll Analyst role operates in a dynamic, high-volume environment supporting a large UK workforce.
You will support the payroll function by managing complex payroll cycles involving thousands of employees, varied shift patterns, frequent last-minute adjustments, intricate absence and time-away policies, and strict adherence to HMRC regulations and UK payroll legislation (including RTI submissions). The pace is demanding — payroll deadlines are non-negotiable, queries require prompt resolution, and precision is essential to maintain financial accuracy, employee trust, and organisational compliance.
We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented professional with a strong work ethic who takes responsibility for their tasks, thrives in a deadline-driven setting, and consistently delivers accurate, compliant results as part of the payroll team. This is a supportive role focused on helping the payroll function run smoothly and efficiently.

Role Purpose
Support the payroll function in Dayforce by ensuring accurate and compliant payroll operations, with emphasis on Time & Attendance (T&A), Time Away From Work (TAFW), testing, auditing, and team training/development. The role combines day-to-day processing support with configuration assistance, quality checks, and contributions to continuous improvement to enhance accuracy and colleague experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Support end-to-end payroll processing in Dayforce: assist with execution, data validation, reconciliation, and compliant RTI submissions.
- Assist with configuration and maintenance of T&A rules and TAFW policies; support validation of time capture accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Support configuration of payroll elements, participate in testing cycles (including parallel runs/UAT), document processes, and help resolve defects.
- Build and maintain audit reports, controls, and basic dashboards in Dayforce/Excel to support data integrity and stakeholder needs.
- Act as a point of contact for payroll, T&A, and TAFW queries; collaborate with HR, Finance, Tech, and managers to resolve issues promptly.
- Support the payroll team's training and development: assist in delivering training sessions, creating learning materials, and mentoring colleagues.

Essential Skills & Experience
- Hands-on Dayforce payroll experience, including processing support and configuration assistance.
- Good knowledge of Time & Attendance and TAFW policy setup.
- Experience supporting test cycles and defect resolution.
- Advanced data skills: Excel, Dayforce reporting.
- Strong understanding of UK payroll legislation (RTI, auto-enrolment, etc.); European exposure a plus.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for team and stakeholder support.
Desirable
- Experience with scheduling & timesheets support/rollouts.
- Familiarity with workflows, document management, and employee self-service features.
- Exposure to acquisitions and change management support.
- Process improvement mindset; experience supporting audit frameworks.
Qualifications
- Relevant payroll qualification (e.g., CIPP or equivalent) highly preferred.
