We're helping our client with their search for a mid-level SQL Server DBA to join their team. This is an opportunity to join an established team with solid leadership. The successful candidate will be self-motivated with a suitable at-home work environment to support the remote-first nature of this role.
Essential for the Role
- 5-8 years' minimum experience working as a MS SQL Server DBA
- Good knowledge of SQL Server 2016 (the business is moving to SQL Server 2022 imminently)
- Comfortable working with Azure SQL
- Database development using T-SQL and SSIS
- Work in an agile environment
- Happy providing troubleshooting advice and code optimization to fellow development teams as needed
- Important in the role is someone who works with initiative and enthusiasm
- You must live in the UK and be willing to work from home full-time. You may be asked to make occasional ad hoc trips to the office for in-person meetings (likely a handful of times a year). Unfortunately, our client cannot hire remote workers who are based outside of the UK.

Nice to Have
- Teradata, Oracle, or other RDMBS
- SQL Server data tools including database projects
Responsibilities Include
- Testing patches, keeping SQL Servers up to date
- Database deployments
- Development and execution of capacity plans
- Database back up and recovery
- Task automation and process improvements
- Troubleshoot and resolution of database production support issues
- Monitoring database security
- Managing incidents, problems, and changes using tools
