Salary: £27,204 rising by yearly increments to a maximum of £29,859 per annum + Excellent Benefits including Government Pension
Location: Police Headquarters, Winfrith, Dorset
Type of employment: Permanent
Closing Date: 28/07/2026, 12:00.
Hours per week: This role is 37 hours per week. However, we welcome applications from individuals wishing to work on a part-time basis and we are willing to consider flexible working patterns subject to business need.
About the Role
If you have a keen eye for detail and enjoy working within a small, but busy team, then this is an exciting opportunity for you to join us and play a key role in our shared commitment to safeguard the vulnerable within the Dorset community.
Dorset Police are an essential partner to DBS who have the critical role of conducting criminal background checks on people who have applied for jobs or voluntary work within areas who have contact with some of our most vulnerable. By accessing and reviewing secure Police information and conducting assessments to national standards you will be providing the Disclosure & Barring service and their partners with a summary of relevant information to enable them to make safer recruitment decisions. Whilst this can sometimes mean that you will be viewing potentially disturbing material, in doing so you will be playing a big part in the safeguarding of the most vulnerable people within the Dorset community.
