DC Pensions Consultant – Specialist Team (Mercer)

Mercer is seeking a DC Pensions Consultant to join our specialist team in the delivery of DC pension services to a large portfolio of clients. Mercer has one of the largest fully integrated groups of DC experts in the UK, including governance, scheme design, investment consultants, provider, and technical researchers and technicians.

This exciting growth area of Mercer’s UK business is a key strategic focus, delivering both successful pension and savings solutions for clients, and career opportunities for our talented colleagues. Our collaborative culture within the team drives growth, helping win new business and maintain strong existing client relationships.

This is a hybrid role, requiring at least 3 days per week in the office, with opportunity to collaborate closely with a supportive team while enjoying flexible working. The role can be based in London, Manchester, Leeds, Bristol, Birmingham or Edinburgh.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a lead investment consultant on mid-size to large clients, delivering and promoting Mercer’s services
  • Provide support to lead consultants for our largest and most complex clients
  • Review work produced by analysts and junior consultants using Mercer’s software/tools
  • Manage client relationship engagements for some clients
  • Oversee budgets and maintain commercial relationships with clients
  • Advise internal Mercer teams on defined contribution investments
  • Generate proactive revenue from existing clients and extend service offerings from other Mercer lines of business as appropriate

Requirements

Essential

  • Proven DC pensions consulting experience
  • Ability to build excellent working relationships with colleagues, clients, and provider contacts at all levels
  • Experience in client relationship management
  • CFA charterholder status or actively studying towards the CFA designation

Desirable

  • Trust-based DC pensions consulting experience
  • Project management experience
