Secondment

2 Years - Fixed Term Contract
OCC, Speke

Applicants must obtain approval from their Chief Superintendent/Head of Department before submitting an application.

Introduction

Counter Terrorism Policing North West (CTPNW) is a five-force collaboration delivering Counter Terrorism (CT) services to our regional forces as well as forming part of the national CT Network. CTPNW’s mission is to work together to keep people safe from terrorism.

We are looking for a committed and outstanding individual who can support CTPNW in achieving its mission.

Information about the specific role

The intelligence network is made up of specialist officers and staff who work closely with UK intelligence partners to assess, manage and develop intelligence in order to minimise risk and mitigate threat.

Intelligence is the golden thread that runs through all of our work in CT Policing and is vital to ensuring we succeed in our mission to keep people safe from terrorism.

The challenges within intelligence can be wide ranging and diverse, from working to support the investigation of a highly sophisticated international plot to identifying vulnerable individuals being radicalised online.

This work is complex and needs to be adaptable to an ever-changing threat picture and the requirements of our many internal and external partners.

Based at the Merseyside Hub you will provide overall management of the work of the CTPNW Intelligence Management Unit and supporting functions, ensuring the timely and effective receipt, assessment and management of information and intelligence in line with the National Standards of Intelligence Management for Counter Terrorism.

You will develop intelligence and investigative strategies to identify and manage risk and threat.

You will supervise and manage staff working within CTPNW intelligence.

Additionally you will support other managerial functions within the CTPNW as required.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
