The Opportunity

We are now recruiting for a DCS Engineer to complete a range of hands-on responsibilities to support the TeesREP site in ensuring safety and availability of all DCS, Functional Safety, TOPi system historian plant systems.

You will act as a key technical contact for process control systems, working closely with operations, engineering, ICT and wider site teams to maintain plant availability and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure safety and availability of all Site DCS, FS and all other local control systems and be part of the functional safety management team.
  • Own and manage the system historian for the plant, including statutory compliance and maintenance and delivery of plant and systems.
  • Take the lead in management of cyber security on all the IACS.
  • Support the central ICT team in management and development of the process control systems on site.
  • Co-ordinate and provide input into assigned and cross-functional improvement and change projects and initiatives, contributing and leading resolution of appropriate engineering plant problems.
  • Act as the central technical information point for TeesREP colleagues and departments on assigned DCS, functional safety and control system matters.
  • Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Complete assigned programming, systems configuration and take a lead role in alarm rationalisation and management in line with EEMUA 191.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • HNC or equivalent electrical, control or instrumentation engineering discipline.
  • 24/7 process, energy or manufacturing experience, in DCS Systems and functional safety to complete job role responsibilities.
  • Operations interface. Working with & to operational policies & procedure.
  • Best practice standards in DCS systems & functional safety.
  • A background working cross functionally delivering policies, initiatives & compliance. Engineering standards and codes: IEC 61508/61511 SHE systems, ensuring compliance, risk & improvement.
  • Knowledge of applicable DCS platforms and associated applications, as well as DCS Software software including Fail Safe Controller (FSC)
