Description: Full Time / 37 Hours Per Week / Permanent

Focused on making things happen. Join a fast-paced, highly dynamic DDaT Service, where you’ll play a key role in procuring transformational digital, data and technology products and services. This is a standout opportunity to support and help shape the development of the DDaT procurement team, bringing fresh ideas, strengthening ways of working, and making a real impact in a role where no two days are the same.

  • From managing stakeholders to coordinating DDaT procurement and commercial solutions across multiple departments, you’ll remove barriers and keep delivery moving.
  • You’ll also help manage supplier risk, benchmark performance, and drive continuous improvement through KPIs, market intelligence and management information, while maintaining compliance with Procurement Act and the DDaT Playbook.
  • This role also offers exciting opportunities to support the changing demands of Local Government Reorganisation (LGR), helping the organisation respond to additional workload and shape future ways of working.
  • With the potential for team expansion, you’ll be well placed to influence how commercial and procurement support develops to meet new priorities and scale effectively.

Supporting to lead a team of professionals, you’ll develop, mentor and coach procurement staff while embedding strong commercial practices and procedures. Working within a diverse and inclusive multi-disciplinary service, you’ll bring together in-house digital, data and technology expertise to build capability, work more efficiently and deliver excellent value for the citizens of Leicester.

What You’ll Need

We are seeking candidates who can demonstrate sufficient experience in procurement, contract management and/or wider commercial activity. This would ideally be within a digital, data or technology setting, or within a complex public sector environment where they have had exposure to managing contracts, supplier relationships, and commercial decision-making.

  • You’ll demonstrate strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across a range of stakeholders.
  • As a confident individual you’ll have the ability to influence others and ensure work progresses across multiple priorities, even in complex environments.
  • In addition, you’ll bring a solid understanding of procurement compliance, governance, and good commercial practice. This is complemented by your ability to analyse information, manage risk, and apply insight to support informed procurement and supplier decision-making.
  • You’ll bring a proactive and adaptable approach to support change, respond to new demands and contribute to continuous team development.

This is a full time, permanent position working 37 hours per week. You’ll have flexibility in hybrid working being both office based, at City Hall or working remotely from home to suit the needs of the service. However, under our News Ways of Working Policy you’ll be required to work a minimum of 2 days a week from a non-home location.
