About MBT Group Holdings Ltd

MBT Group Holdings Ltd is an innovation led industrial acquisition platform focused on acquiring and modernising industrial service businesses across the United Kingdom and North America. We combine proprietary acquisition methodologies, AI enabled research, financial analysis and operational benchmarking to identify and execute acquisition opportunities.

Our focus is on owner managed businesses operating within industrial services, HVAC, facilities management, engineering, manufacturing and specialist technical services with enterprise values between £1 million and £10 million. We work closely with business owners, advisers, lenders, investors and family offices to structure acquisitions that create long term value.

This internship offers a rare opportunity to gain direct exposure to live acquisitions rather than simulated case studies.

The Opportunity

We are looking for ambitious and intellectually curious individuals who want practical experience in mergers and acquisitions.

You will work directly with the Founder and participate in sourcing acquisition opportunities, analysing companies, researching industries and supporting real transactions from initial identification through to execution.

Unlike traditional internships, successful candidates will contribute to active acquisition projects and gain exposure to commercial decision making.

This position is ideal for students or graduates interested in careers within Private Equity, Investment Banking, Corporate Finance, Search Funds, Venture Capital, Corporate Development or Strategy Consulting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify acquisition opportunities across the United Kingdom and North America.
  • Research privately owned companies using proprietary sourcing techniques and commercial databases.
  • Build acquisition target lists within selected industries.
  • Analyse financial statements including Profit and Loss Accounts, Balance Sheets and Cash Flow Statements.
  • Prepare investment summaries and executive briefings.
  • Support company valuations using comparable transactions and other valuation methodologies.
  • Conduct market research and industry analysis.
  • Maintain deal pipeline records and acquisition tracking systems.
  • Assist in preparing Non Disclosure Agreements, Letters of Intent and investment presentations.
  • Support communication with business brokers, advisers and business owners.
  • Monitor acquisition opportunities across multiple industries.
  • Present research findings during internal strategy meetings.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
