Our client is a leading manufacturer and supplier within the material handling sector, renowned for delivering innovative solutions, exceptional customer service, and a premium product portfolio.

Due to continued growth and ambitious plans to expand their dealer footprint across the UK, they are seeking an experienced Dealer Development Manager to identify, recruit, and develop new franchise partners.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Head of Dealer Channel, the Dealer Development Manager will play a pivotal role in expanding and strengthening the company's UK dealer network. This is a strategic, customer-facing position focused on identifying high-potential franchise partners, managing the onboarding process, and ensuring dealers are equipped to deliver sustainable growth and market penetration.

The successful candidate will act as a trusted advisor to new and existing dealer partners, helping them maximize sales performance, market coverage, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and recruit new dealer/franchise partners across the UK.
  • Develop and execute a dealer network expansion strategy aligned with business growth objectives.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify geographical opportunities and gaps in dealer coverage.
  • Lead dealer selection, due diligence, and appointment processes.
  • Manage dealer onboarding programs, ensuring smooth integration into the business.
  • Build strong relationships with dealer principals, sales leaders, and key stakeholders.
  • Support dealers with business planning, sales development, and market growth initiatives.
  • Monitor dealer performance through agreed KPIs and improvement plans.
  • Work closely with internal sales, service, marketing, and leadership teams to support dealer success.
  • Ensure dealer operations align with brand standards, commercial objectives, and customer expectations.
  • Deliver regular performance reports and recommendations to senior leadership.
  • Represent the business at industry events, exhibitions, and dealer conferences.

Candidate Profile

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience within dealer development, network development, franchise management, or channel sales.
  • Knowledge of the material handling industry.
  • Experience recruiting and managing dealer or distribution partners.
  • Strong commercial and strategic planning skills.
  • Demonstrated success in developing sales channels and driving business growth.
  • Experience working within capital equipment, industrial, material handling, automotive, agricultural, construction, or related sectors.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Full UK driving license.
