Deals Technology, AI Forward Deployed Engineer - Manager
Line of Service Advisory Industry/Sector Not Applicable Specialism Deals Management Level Manager Job Description & Summary About the role The Deals AI Forward Deployed Engineer is a hands-on technologist positioned at the heart of PwC's market-leading Deals practice, a business that is fundamentally transforming how the firm and our clients navigate their most complex challenges. Embedded directly within Deal teams, this role is instrumental in rapidly designing, building, and deploying cutting-edge AI-driven solutions that are reshaping the transaction lifecycle, from due diligence and valuation through to integration, separation, and working directly with clients on agentic solutions throughout post-deal value creation. What your days will look like: You will partner closely with deal professionals and sprint teams to identify opportunities where AI can unlock meaningful value for our clients. You will architect and deliver bespoke solutions, leveraging large language models, agentic AI frameworks, retrieval-augmented generation, and a broad suite of modern AI tooling, tailored to the specific demands of each transaction. You will be expected to work efficiently, iterating on prototypes and shipping working solutions within tight deal timescales, maintaining a strong drive to deliver results, where progress is measured by what you build and learn rather than what is discussed in meetings. You will also play a critical role in surfacing recurring patterns, workflows, and failure modes from the field, feeding those insights back into our broader Deals AI product roadmap and platform capabilities so that wins on one engagement scale across the practice. The role is for you if: You bring deep technical curiosity and breadth of AI experience — from large language models and agentic frameworks to retrieval-augmented generation and modern orchestration patterns — paired with a strong software engineering foundation, enabling you to lead the design and delivery of sophisticated AI solutions at pace. You take ownership of client engagements end-to-end, leading multidisciplinary teams to architect and deploy bespoke AI-driven solutions that address complex transactional challenges with precision and commercial awareness. You actively coach and develop team members, leveraging your understanding of individual strengths to build high-performing teams, manage performance constructively, and foster a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence. You identify and pursue new business opportunities by translating emerging AI capabilities into compelling client propositions, contributing to practice growth while maintaining a results-driven, client-focused approach that prioritises solving meaningful, real-world problems. You embrace technology and innovation, championing the adoption of cutting-edge tools and methodologies across engagements, and bringing collaborative, adaptable problem-solving skills to fast-paced, evolving deal environments. What you’ll receive from us: No matter where you may be in your career or personal life, our benefits are designed to add value and support, recognising and rewarding you fairly for your contributions. We offer a range of benefits including empowered flexibility and a working week split between office, home, and client site; private medical cover and 24/7 access to a qualified virtual GP; six volunteering days a year and much more. I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
