Executive Debt Advisor (Financial Analysis & Deal Support)

An advisory boutique with offices across the UK and Europe is expanding their successful and growing European Debt Advisory team, particularly in their London office. We are seeking an ambitious Executive Debt Advisor to:

  • Contribute to a dynamic, fast-paced environment supporting Private Equity firms and corporates in debt finance projects
  • Work closely with a small, high-performing team, with direct access to leadership
  • Assume early responsibilities while gaining exposure to high-volume deal-flow and internal progression

Purpose of the Role

The role centres on financial analysis, research, presentation preparation, and transaction management, including:

  • Direct support to marketing, pitches, and bid preparations for new business
  • High-level financial modelling and detailed market/credit valuations
  • Information memorandum and client presentation development
  • Extended research into debt market trends and sector dynamics

Key Responsibilities

Financial & Market Support
  • Develop and maintain calculation models, financial-analysis tools, and deal-comparative databases
  • Prepare economic and sector analyses to inform client strategy and advisory work
Deal Operations & Networking
  • Serve as a point of daily contact for clients during transactions (Q&A, status updates, problem-solving)
  • Conduct target company/PE firm deep dives, collating and interpreting commercial, financing, and sector data
  • Build & maintain internal/external relationships, including:
    • Lawyers, consultants, and due-diligence providers
    • Junior professionals across PE firms (target client base)
    • Sector specialists (industry attestors, credit appraisers)

Documentation & Communication
  • Author briefing notes, market reports, and research comps for client consumption
  • Draft phased presentation decks (PowerPoint/Excel) covering financials, trends, and bespoke modelling
  • Act as editor-reviewer of information memoranda (IMs), ensuring clarity and client-readiness
Operational Execution
  • Assist in topic-sourcing, data sourcing, and synthesis and flow for multi-disciplinary deal teams
  • Cross-functional knowledge sharing with trading/proprietary securitisation or M&A teams in London/Europe

Requirements

Essential Experience

  • A 2:1 undergraduate degree or equivalent, with preferably strong quantitative/financial subject focus
  • CA qualification (ACA) with minimum 1–2 years PQE in relevant domains:
    • Debt advisory, Private Equity credit surveillance, Capital Markets, or transaction accounting (leveraged finance focus preferred)
    • Executable experience within:
      • Financial / valuation modelling (Excel, Pythian, Murex, etc.)
      • Credit analysis, loan negotiation, or refinancing advisory

Professional Attributes

  • Proven capability in executive exposure (rotate beyond pure support roles, e.g., law, quant roles, corporate roles, or similar)
  • Exceptional code clarity in financial models (reader-friendly structure, formulas, annotations)
  • Formation-to-close experience with Private Equity backed deals, including:
    • Capital markets transactions (new money / syndication)
    • Deal structuring/parties negotiation (lender and/or borrower briefing)
  • Advanced industry exposure to: bank covenants, bond capital structure, IRR calculations, or LBO optimisation

Key Skills

  • Financing modelling:
    • Build interactive forecasts for sensitivity tables/SCENARIO/What-if Размах
    • Application of LTV & DS ratios, blended bonds strategies, IRR for varying leverage profiles
  • Binance presentation development:
    • Multi-level decks (management, covenant committee) covering financial foucault, market trends, and competitive positioning details
  • Deal team deputisation:
    • Ability to escalate query intuitions and provide appropriate client engagement
  • Comfortable with governing frameworks:
    • IAS-IFRS accounting standards (especially real estate and deal-specific disclosures)
  • Language: Mandatory – fluent EU-language (French, German, Spanish, or Italian) in addition to English, written; strong verbal competence mandatory

Competencies

  • Ability to synthesise granular credit and investment readiness-storyline while filtering for buyer priorities and timeframes
  • Problem-solving mindset with comfort working with ambiguous, high-stakes, and multi-faceted inputs
  • Presentational and written skills: Must familiarise with addressing and influencing at board level withinumsions
  • Process awareness: Proficient time management, multi-stakeholder-managing workflow, and relationship development
  • Demographic: Excellent awareness needed to influence behavior and how decisions are made at an executive level

Note: Exceptional candidates from related investment banking, corporate finance, or consulting (e.g., PE commercial analytics) without formal debt advisory experience will be considered if they demonstrate strong numeracy, transaction insight, and a keen interest in credit / restructuring strategies.
