Debt Recovery Process Advisor
Location: Durrington, Worthing (Hybrid, 2 days per week) Contract Type: Permanent Hours: 37 per week Salary: From £28,000 (depending on skills and experience) Closing Date: 10 July 2024
About the Role
The Debt Recovery Process Advisor will support the processes and activities related to collecting overdue debt, including but not limited to:
- Responding to queries from customers placed with debt collection partners
- Reviewing Default registration queries
- Managing the monthly reporting process
- Handling DCA (Debt Collection Alliance) allocation and daily file transfer processes
- Assisting with the bad debt write-off process
Key Responsibilities
The role involves maintaining oversight of the entire collections journey—from early collections through to litigation and debt write-off.
- Build relationships with external debt collection service providers and offshore teams to improve process awareness and query resolution.
- Respond to customer emails, generated following contact from Debt Collection Partners.
- Provide guidance to offshore teams on escalated DCA queries, helping them understand business processes better.
- Assist with the monthly Credit Reference Agency (CRA) data sharing process, including reviewing customer requests for information amendments or removals.
- Monitor and manage the file transfer process associated with DCA allocations.
- Prepare and circulate monthly reports on DCA activity and performance.
- Carry out various administrative tasks supporting the DCA process.
- Prepare data for the bad debt write-off process.

What You’ll Bring to the Role
- Preferred experience in a Customer Service/Collections environment
- Proficiciency in Microsoft Office (Excel proficiency is essential)
- Strong people skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Ability to communicate clearly with customers, colleagues, and service partners
- Understanding of a customer’s collections journey
- Self-motivated, with strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Experience in multi-tasking and prioritising tasks independently
- Flexible positive mindset to adapt to evolving business needs
