Customer Service Critical Role – Onboard Vessel Support
About the Role
This role works in close collaboration with the crew on board the vessel to ensure the safety and great customer experience of our passengers.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the Master / Mate in the safe operation of the vessel, whilst carrying out safe and efficient vessel management duties.
- Ensure that all passengers have the correct ticket type for their journey in line with our Pay Before You Travel Policy.
- Assist the Master / Mate / OSCA in cleaning and maintenance of the vessel.
- Work alongside the OCSA to support customer service & stock control, aiming to improve the customer experience collaboratively.
- Contribute to safety checks of the vessel’s equipment in accordance with SMS and ISM guidelines, ensuring compliance with all Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices.
- Play health and safety, and other automated announcements as required, reporting any defects to the onboard Mate.
- Assist with securing vessels alongside piers as directed by the Master and Mate.
- Record passenger numbers accurately on all relevant systems and advise pier teammates of available space before loading begins.
- Offer a friendly welcome on board, provide any necessary information with supporting materials, and ensure a fond farewell at journey’s end.
- Help with bunkering of fresh water and fuel.
