Are you a commercially minded leader with experience to turn robotics, automation or deep tech innovation into practical business growth and scale up

Can you bring together businesses, universities, investors and partners to accelerate technology adoption and support regional growth?

South of Scotland Enterprise is seeking a Deep Tech Accelerator Lead to provide strategic and operational leadership for the Borderlands Deep Tech Accelerator Hub in Hawick.

About Us

South of Scotland Enterprise (also known as SOSE) is the dedicated Economic and Community Development Agency for the Scottish Borders and Dumfries and Galloway. We were established by the Scottish Government and represent a fresh approach to driving growth across a very special region in a way that benefits all.

We are the first of Scotland’s public agencies to promote a wider view of the economy and how it impacts all we do. Jobs, businesses, communities and the environment are all equally important to us. We want to make sure that everyone has an opportunity to fulfil their ambitions, no matter who or where they are.

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day

This is a rare opportunity to shape and grow a nationally significant deep tech accelerator hub from the South of Scotland. You will develop and lead the delivery of the Deep Tech Roadmap, establish a commercially sustainable accelerator model, and support businesses to adopt robotics, automation and other innovative technologies. Working closely with universities, investors, industry and national partners, you will help translate research and innovation into practical, scalable business opportunities that improve productivity and growth.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
