We are seeking a Safety / Certification Engineer to support the delivery of safety assurance and certification activities across Defence Land Systems, including armoured vehicles, autonomous systems, weapons platforms, and supporting infrastructure.
You will play a key role in ensuring systems are safe, compliant, and fit for purpose, working across the full lifecycle from concept through to in-service support. This is a client-facing role requiring solid technical expertise, clear communication, and the ability to manage complex stakeholder environments. Employees work with limited guidance and on their own initiative, seeking opportunities to develop their skills as part of client delivery work. Employees must have the capability to project manage medium sized, low to medium risk projects.
At Frazer-Nash, we don’t just deliver projects, we create solutions that matter. Join a team of skilled, motivated professionals and dive into exciting challenges that support client expectations. From day one, you’ll own your contribution, collaborate with experts, and see the real-world impact of your work.
We’re looking for individuals who thrive on and enjoy taking initiative. You’ll have the freedom to innovate, the support to succeed, and the chance to develop quickly. As you develop, you’ll step up to lead medium-sized projects; shaping outcomes, driving results, and building your career in a dynamic, forward-thinking environment.
If you’re motivated, keen on innovation, and ready to take initiative, this is our opportunity to build something extraordinary together.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Frazer-Nash Consultancy (Frazer-Nash) provides safety, assurance, and certification services to the UK, and other countries, for the defence land environment. We support our Defence clients in providing the UK with a safe and sustainable military capability. We work either directly for the Ministry of Defence on their complex equipment, or for the Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) further down the supply chain. Due to the diversity of equipment and OEMs involved, a large majority of our work includes international clients. This is done effectively through the application of effective systems engineering and engineering technical services across the land portfolio. The ideal candidate will provide engineering, safety, and certification knowledge to bolster our team of multi-discipline engineers across a variety of vehicles, weapons, and specialised equipment programmes.
Our clients look for support in initial certification, legislation compliance, safety & environmental cases development, and technical delivery of projects. This would suit an engineer with previous experience working within MoD Project Teams, Delivery Teams, or Front-Line delivery of platforms or equipment. The role represents an opportunity to join an expanding team and lead technical delivery of projects across the land spectrum within the defence environment.
You will develop a portfolio of project deliveries, hone your consultancy skills, and mentor more junior engineers and graduates. As part of Frazer-Nash, you will also have opportunities to work outside the land domain and gain diverse experience to widen your skillset further.

- Experience producing safety cases and hazard management documentation
- Strong methodical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers and multidisciplinary teams
