Delegated Credit Control Technician

Make a Meaningful Impact in Insurance

Are you looking for a role where you can posture timely premium collection and ensure operational efficiency within the insurance sector?

The Opportunity

As a Credit Control Officer, you will join Markel Group’s Delegated Credit Control Team within the Underwriting Support Services department. This is an ideal position for ambitious professionals seeking hands-on experience in insurance credit control, with full training provided.

While prior experience in insurance credit control is advantageous, it is not essential. Familiarity with the London insurance market will be beneficial but is not required.

Markel is a global leader in insurance, reinsurance, and specialist advisory services, and your role plays a critical part in optimising revenue flow and supporting seamless operations.

Responsibilities

Core Duties

  • Ensure timely premium collection by liaising with brokers and coverholders, maintaining detailed follow-up records within internal systems.
  • Investigate variances between written and signed premiums, reconciling differences on bordereaux to limit disputes and maintain accurate accounts.
  • Collaborate with underwriting teams to resolve problem accounts, troubleshoot declining premiums, and identify discrepancies in settled funds.
  • Monitor and resolve bureau rejections by coordinating with internal and third-party stakeholders, ensuring no delays in premium processing.
  • Work on direct settlements reconciliation, allocating funds accurately and submitting LPANs to Xchanging for Syndicate 3000 classified transactions.
  • Play an active role in achieving team targets and KPIs, balancing independence with teamwork for operational success.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
