Delegated Underwriting Analyst

Location: Hybrid (Gloucester/London office) Company: Pro

Pro is seeking an excellent Delegated Underwriting Analyst to join its Insurance Services team. The role involves taking ownership of complex lead binder reviews and new Coverholder applications for both the company and Lloyd’s, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and regulatory procedures.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Application Review & Submission

    • Review and prepare new applications for Lloyd’s, including global Coverholder and branch applications.
  • Compliance & Binder Control

    • Ensure all binding contracts, master policies, consortiums, and line slips comply with company procedures and regulatory requirements, both before and after binding.
    • Perform technical due diligence risk assessments of Coverholders, ensuring they meet high industry standards.

  • Support to Underwriters

    • Assist underwriters by providing technical advice and supporting Coverholder approvals.
  • Regulatory Expertise

    • Monitor and evaluate changes in the regulatory environment.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure compliance and implement solutions.
  • Contract Drafting

    • Draft direct dealing contracts and endorsements as required.
  • Efficient Processing & Client Communication

    • Process tasks accurately and efficiently, adhering to client SLAs.
    • Respond professionally to client queries via email or phone.
    • Handle and resolve queries from clients, brokers, Coverholders, and internal team members.
    • Assist with client workflow management and maintain weekly/monthly reporting.
    • Understand client KPIs and SLAs.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a Delegated Underwriting function, with exposure to Lloyd’s and Company Markets.
  • Solid knowledge of underwriting practices and regulatory binder frameworks.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills (clear, concise, and professional).
  • High attention to detail with strong pragmatism and prioritization skills.
  • Strong technical skills to meet deadlines efficiently.
  • Essential understanding of insurance and reinsurance principles.
  • Desirable: Experience with London Market systems, familiarity with Property, Casualty, and Marine business classes, and knowledge of the US insurance market.
  • Maintains a conscientious, positive, and solution-focused approach, fostering strong working relationships.
