The team you'll be working with:
NTT DATA is seeking a Delivery Lead responsible for delivering a major workstream within a complex Central Government IT transformation programme.
- Accountable for high-risk, high-value digital/IT delivery
- Operates across the full product/service lifecycle
- Acts as an escalation point and leader within the delivery team
The role is fully accountable for end-to-end delivery of the workstream, plus financial performance, client satisfaction, and identification / development of future opportunities.
What you'll be doing:
Delivery Leadership
- Lead complex delivery, with accountability for governance, quality and financial outcomes.
- Work effectively as part of a supplier ecosystem, managing dependencies to enable successful delivery.
- Maintain a proactive, “no surprises” delivery culture with strong forecasting, risk management, and transparent stakeholder reporting.
Client and Executive Engagement
- Achieve high client satisfaction through consistent, high-quality delivery and collaborative ways of working.
- Act as a senior escalation point, resolving complex workstream-level commercial, operational, and delivery challenges.
Commercial and Financial Management
- Budgeting, forecasting and cost control for the workstream.
- Manage obligations within the contract.
- Support business development activity, including cost modelling, delivery assurance and mobilization.
Governance and Assurance
- Proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies, change control, quality, and configuration management.
- Ensure robust application of project governance, assurance, and reporting frameworks.
- Implement and monitor KPIs aligned to client outcomes and business objectives.
- Operate within Central Government processes including GDS Service Standards and Technical Code of Practice.

Team Leadership
- Lead a major workstream with cross-disciplinary, distributed teams across internal service lines and partner ecosystems.
- Drive high-performance team culture through structured objective setting, feedback, development, and performance management.
- Secure and mobilise appropriate resources in collaboration with Practices and Service Lines.
- Foster continuous improvement, innovation, and knowledge sharing to deliver measurable benefits for clients and the business.
What experience you'll bring:
- Proven track record of leading complex Government sector programmes
- Led large-scale transformation and policy-driven digital services (tax, compliance)
- Demonstrated success managing distributed, multi-supplier, and client-side teams.
- Advanced stakeholder management, negotiation, and conflict resolution capabilities.
- Strong commercial acumen, including financial modelling, margin management, and experience across multiple contracting approaches.
- Deep understanding of UK Government procurement and governance frameworks.
- Practical experience with Agile, Scaled Agile, MSP, and hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Ability to manage ambiguity and risk with a forward-looking, solution-oriented mindset.
- Must be eligible to obtain UK Security Clearance (SC)
- Desirable – experience working on data migration programmes.
