HGV Delivery Driver
Work Schedule
- Flex Shifts: 40 hours per week
- Hours include early starts, with some overnight stays as part of the role
Environmental Conditions
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs without assistance
- Some degree of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) required, including:
- Safety glasses
- Gowning/coats
- Gloves
- Lab coats
- Earplugs
- Will work with hazardous/toxic materials

This role sits within the Transportation Team, responsible for: ✔ Delivering goods to customers and end users ✔ Making collections (returns from customers or suppliers) ✔ Performing safely and compliantly to fulfil transportation operations at the Loughborough Distribution Centre and beyond
Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
- Transit goods and materials to designated locations safely and efficiently
- Adhere to PPE guidelines and company safety practices, identifying risks appropriately
- Operate company vehicles in compliance with UK highway laws, ADR, and Driver Hours Regulations
- Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any safety/mechanical issues to management
- Ensure vehicle cab and load areas remain clean and well-maintained, with appropriate uniform and safety footwear

Customer & Logistics Management
- Maintain expert relations with customers, ensuring courteous and professional interactions
- Stay updated on route changes/special instructions
- Account for all deliveries and ensure paperwork is accurately completed
- Load trucks securely, ensuring compliance with DOT regulations, and proper placarding
Efficiency & Adaptability
- Stay physically fit and capable of lifting up to 25kg
- May operate over two-day runs, requiring staying overnight
- Continuously improve loading, route management, and vehicle maintenance efficiency
Role-Specific Requirements
- Follow company safety policies and local customer site rules
- Report safety concerns to management promptly
** Knowledge, Skills & Abilities**
Driving & Licensing
- Clean, current driving license (Class C Preferred)
- Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
- Experience with GPS and route planning tools
Communication & Teamwork
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Customer Service/Warehouse Teams

Physical Fitness
- Capable of sitting, standing, bending, lifting (up to 25kg), walking, and pushing/pulling loads
Preferred (Not Mandatory)
- ADR certification (advantageous for hazardous materials transport)
