Delivery Lead
Location: UK or Ireland
Contract type: Permanent
Role Purpose
We are seeking a proactive, self-motivated, and experienced Delivery Lead to work across Enterprise initiatives within our global organization. This role works closely with other teams including Architecture, Data, Product, Security, and Engineering by providing specialized delivery expertise.
You'll lead, inspire, and motivate; working closely with a team of engineers throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring adherence to architectural patterns, quality standards, and delivery timelines. Collaborating with Product Managers, Architecture teams, and Enterprise IT specialists, you will serve as the delivery liaison between engineering teams and key partners, proactively identifying risks and dependencies throughout all phases of initiatives.
This role requires someone who can work autonomously and collaboratively, capable of hitting the ground running in a fast-paced, complex, and fast-moving environment focused on digital transformation.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Roadmap & Portfolio Management
- Own the overall roadmap from a delivery perspective for Enterprise IT.
- Support engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle, from initiative planning through to delivery, post-implementation support, and value realization
- Manage portfolio of projects, tracking progress and priorities across multiple concurrent initiatives
Frameworks & Continuous Improvement
- Own and develop delivery frameworks and practices, providing suitable training and coaching to engineering teams, and other project team members
- Set baselines for key performance indicators such as cycle time, defect management and mean time to recovery
- Drive continuous improvement within the team to increase delivery velocity and quality
- Facilitate lessons learned sessions and post-implementation reviews
- Manage delivery board and governance processes
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Responsible for ensuring that collaborators are kept informed throughout the organization
- Engage, communicate, and work towards compromise and success during the product lifecycle
- Work with vendor partners and external partners
Documentation & Reporting
- Ensure relevant project documentation is created, managed, and maintained
- Responsible for adequate reporting of projects using Jira as the system of choice.
- Track project progress and maintain comprehensive project documentation
Risk & Dependency Management
- Maintain RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs for delivery plans
- Identify, assess, and communicate project-related risks throughout the delivery lifecycle
- Provide confidence levels on delivery plans based on identified risks
Quality Assurance & Testing Coordination
- Ensure comprehensive testing phases occur including unit testing, system integration testing, performance testing, and security testing
- Facilitate User Acceptance Testing (UAT) processes and coordination with business team members
- Report on testing outcomes, success rates, and quality metrics
- Ensure solutions meet acceptance criteria and production readiness standards

Release & Rollout Management
- Coordinate deployment plans and release activities from a delivery perspective, including communications
- Coordinate release activities and change management initiatives
- Provide hypercare and immediate post-launch support in partnership with Engineering teams
Skills & Capabilities
Essential Requirements:
- Delivery Methodologies: Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies with proven experience leading teams
- Stakeholder Management: Excellent stakeholder management skills to engage, communicate, and work with partners across the organization and senior leadership
- Technical Competence: Technical knowledge or understanding to effectively work on platform projects and communicate with engineering teams about technical risks, issues, and constraints
- Leadership Presence: Senior principles, leading by example, showing work ethic and passionate, professional attitude, with ability to work independently
- Communication Excellence: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English for managing expectations across different teams
- Tool Proficiency: Proficient in tools such as JIRA and JSM (Jira Service Management), or other project management software
- Prioritization Skills: Ability to set and manage frequently changing priorities across multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with a diligent approach
- Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs in a fast-paced environment
- Continuous Improvement: Experience driving continuous improvement initiatives and establishing performance baselines
- Governance: Knowledge of governance practices and frameworks
Preferred Requirements
- Experience working with Architecture and Engineering teams in software engineering environments
- Formal project management certification (Prince2, PMP, Agile/Scrum certifications) is an advantage
