Job Description
Anticipated Contract End Date/Length: 6-month contract
Work set up: Hybrid (2 days per week in office)
Clearance required: BPSS
Our client in the Information Technology and Services industry is looking for a Delivery Lead to oversee the successful delivery of a diverse portfolio of change initiatives supporting one of the UK's largest and most business-critical tax administration services. Working alongside Delivery Leads, Scrum Masters, and technical specialists, this role is responsible for driving delivery governance, coordinating cross-functional teams, managing stakeholder expectations, and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and to agreed quality standards in a complex Agile delivery environment.
What you will do:
- Lead the delivery of a portfolio of change initiatives from project initiation through implementation.
- Develop and maintain delivery plans, forecasts, governance documentation, and reporting artefacts.
- Manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and escalations throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Provide clear delivery reporting, status updates, and progress communications to stakeholders.
- Coordinate activities across engineering, testing, architecture, business analysis, and Scrum Master teams.
- Lead resource planning, forecasting, and capacity management to support delivery commitments.
- Prioritize delivery demand by balancing business priorities, team capacity, and project timelines.
- Ensure releases are delivered in accordance with agreed milestones, governance controls, and quality standards.
- Drive continuous improvement across delivery processes, governance, and ways of working.
- Support and mentor junior delivery team members where appropriate.
- Collaborate with technical and business stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

Qualifications:
- Proven experience leading delivery across multiple concurrent projects or workstreams.
- Strong experience in delivery governance, project planning, forecasting, and performance reporting.
- Experience with resource planning, capacity management, and delivery forecasting.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize competing demands while balancing delivery risk, business value, and available capacity.
- Strong stakeholder management experience across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proven experience managing project risks, issues, dependencies, and escalations.
- Experience working within Agile and hybrid delivery environments.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional technical teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and similar delivery management tools is desirable.
- Public sector or HMRC experience is desirable but not essential.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and continuous improvement mindset.
