Delivery Manager

Delivery Manager (Agile) – NHS Experience Essential

Location: Leeds (1x/month) Rate: £550 per day (Inside IR35) Contract Length: Until March 2027

Overview

We are looking for an experienced Delivery Manager to support a high-impact programme within the NHS.

This role will focus on driving Agile delivery across multidisciplinary teams, ensuring successful outcomes in a complex, regulated healthcare environment.

You will play a key role in:

  • Aligning stakeholders
  • Removing delivery blockers
  • Embedding best practice Agile ways of working across teams

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end delivery across one or more Agile teams within an NHS programme
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including:
    • Stand-ups
    • Sprint planning
    • Retrospectives
    • Showcases
  • Act as the primary point of coordination between technical teams, stakeholders, and senior leadership
  • Identify and remove blockers to ensure smooth and consistent delivery
  • Track progress against milestones, managing:
    • Risks
    • Issues
    • Dependencies
  • Drive continuous improvement in Agile processes and team performance
  • Support effective stakeholder communication, including:
    • Reporting
    • Governance
  • Ensure delivery aligns with NHS standards, compliance, and governance frameworks

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Delivery Manager in Agile environments
  • Strong background working with the NHS or wider healthcare sector
  • Demonstrable experience delivering digital or transformation programmes
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills across technical and non-technical audiences
  • Experience managing risks, dependencies, and delivery timelines in complex environments
  • Familiarity with Agile frameworks such as Scrum or Kanban
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills

  • Experience working with NHS Digital, ICSs, or central government bodies
  • Knowledge of GDS standards or public sector delivery frameworks
  • Relevant Agile certifications (e.g., Scrum Master, SAFe, etc.)
