Operations Manager – Delivery (Warehouse/Transport)
About the Role

We are looking for someone to lead a delivery department, ensuring it trades efficiently, safely, within legal constraints, and offers the highest customer service standards. You’ll be an experienced manager dedicated to customer satisfaction, take pride in your work, and have a proven track record of motivating, developing, and challenging teams to improve the delivery operation.

Based in one of our delivery locations, experience, knowledge, and skills in warehouse/transport are essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead your team to ensure your branch operates efficiently, safely, within legal constraints, and delivers exceptional customer service standards
- Manage delivery costs and customer charges to meet agreed targets
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency while minimising payroll costs by setting challenging targets
- Understand your local market to deliver the best service, ensuring fantastic customer satisfaction
- Effectively manage your team to cover all customer service requirements, engage with customers, and use feedback to improve experience
- Collaborate with the regional team to identify opportunities and develop/improve processes
Requirements
- Essential:
- Proven experience and knowledge in deliveries/transport
- Experience managing warehouse operations
- Strong ability to engage with customers and build lasting relationships
- Skills in encouraging Team Development and improving the delivery service
- Motivational Leadership to foster a strong customer service culture
- Excellent communication & stakeholder influence abilities
- Strong planning and organisational skills
- A "hands-on approach" is beneficial
