Delivery Manager – Nuclear
We are seeking a Delivery Manager to lead the execution of valve contracts within a major nuclear new build programme. This role demands:
- Strong technical understanding of valve systems
- Supplier management experience
- Hands-on oversight of design, procurement, manufacturing, qualification, and contract configuration
Key Responsibilities
You will work closely with engineering teams, quality specialists, suppliers, and client stakeholders to ensure valve packages meet:
- Nuclear safety
- Performance
- Regulatory compliance
- High-integrity delivery
Core Duties:
- Lead valve contracts, ensuring alignment with scope, schedule, cost, and quality requirements.
- Oversee supplier surveillance, including design, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and qualification deliverables.
- Author and maintain technicalcontract specifications, ensuring clarity, compliance, and engineering alignment.
- Manage contract configuration, technical interfaces, and change control (internal and external collaboration).
- Lead valve qualification processes, meeting technical, regulatory, and safety standards.
- Resolve technical Open Points impacting delivery, coordinating with internal teams and suppliers.
- Support the qualification of new valve suppliers for nuclear projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards and client expectations.
- Foster strong supplier relationships, aligning stakeholder expectations with project controls.
- Monitor progress against baselines, proactively identifying risks, opportunities, and mitigations.
- Ensure documentation, compliance, and assurance are met throughout the contract lifecycle.

Travel
- Monthly trips across the EU to work directly with manufacturers/suppliers.
- Base locations require work from Bristol/Bridgwater.
Requirements
Essential Criteria
- Proven track record as a Delivery/Project Manager with Hinkley Point C experience.
- Experience managing high-integrity mechanical equipment contracts.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering, manufacturing processes, and nuclear quality standards.
- Hands-on experience overseeing supplier design, procurement, manufacturing, testing, and qualification activities.
- Ability to manage complex technical interfaces and contract configuration.
- Demonstrated stakeholder management and communication skills (ability to influence at all project levels).
- Awareness of project controls (schedule, cost, risk, and change management).
Desirable Attributes
- Relevant nuclear or high-risk engineering experience.
- Familiarity with nuclear decommissioning, waste management, or advanced reactor projects (e.g., SMRs).
Location & Security
- Visa sponsorship not guaranteed; right to work in the UK (preferably permanent) due to high-level security clearance requirements.
- Exceptionally considered for applicants with specialised nuclear expertise (e.g., EPR/new build).
