Delivery Practice Manager – AWS Professional Services

About the Role

The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking an experienced Delivery Practice Manager (DPM) to join the ProServe Shared Delivery Team (SDT). In this role, you will:

  • Manage a team of ProServe Delivery Consultants while supporting AWS enterprise customers through transformative projects.
  • Leverage your IT and/or Management Consulting background to serve as a strategic advisor to customers, partners, and internal AWS teams.

As a DPM, you will:

  • Lead a team of Delivery Consultants and/or Engagement Managers, collaborating with customers and partners to architect and implement innovative solutions.
  • Engage with Director- and C-level executives for opportunity capture, driving engagement delivery.
  • Work closely with partner teams, develop business growth strategies via thought leadership, and meet/exceed customer satisfaction targets.
  • Define and work toward business outcomes for customers by identifying the most suitable AWS Professional Services offerings and developing proposals and Statements of Work (SOWs).

Your experience in leading teams within the technology sector will help you:

  • Optimize team performance through tailored people development plans.
  • Align teams with customer needs and drive capacity adjustments.
  • Translate technical concepts into business value while maintaining deep technical expertise to build strategic customer, AGS, and ProServe team relationships.

Success is primarily defined by:

  • Consistently delivering customer engagements through:
    • Supporting sales in scoping technical requirements for engagements.
    • Delivering engagements on time, within budget, and exceeding expectations.
  • Maintaining high team utilization and ensuring cost-efficient delivery models.

Responsibilities

As an experienced Professional Services Delivery Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Building and managing a high-performing team of Delivery Consultants
  • Collaborating with Delivery Consultants, Engagement Managers, Account Executives, and Cloud Architects to deploy solutions and influence new feature development
  • Developing and overseeing the implementation of innovative IT and cloud strategies tailored to customer needs
  • Managing profit and loss (P&L) accountability to ensure engagements are delivered on time, on budget, and with high customer satisfaction
  • Driving business development initiatives, thought leadership, and aligning team resources to achieve sales, utilization, and profitability targets

Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Experience in IT consultancy/management, specifically IT Transformation, in a customer-facing role.
  • Proven track record in program or engagement management, including the leadership of other project managers for the successful delivery of multi-project programs.
  • Capacity to manage, deliver and optimize large-scale enterprise IT projects.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in integrating AWS Cloud services with on-premise technologies (e.g., Microsoft, IBM, Oracle, HP, SAP).
  • Strong background in customer relationship management, particularly with C-suite engagement.
  • Familiarity with and successful engagements in designing modern, scalable delivery models for technology consulting services.
