In this hybrid role, you will report to a UK Ops Lead
You Will
Rider Experience & Multimodal Integration: Monitor, mitigate, and respond to service quality issues. Optimize demand matching around major demand clusters to position Waymo as a seamless first/last-mile transit partner. Strategic Pre-positioning & Congestion Zones: Utilize internal systems and forecasting tools to oversee fleet staging, ensuring vehicles are positioned to meet real-time rider demand and minimize wait times across diverse territories.. PUDO Performance & Red Routes: Own the end-to-end Pickup and Drop-off experience. Analyze performance data to eliminate friction points at complex curbsides, ensuring strict compliance with London's "Red Routes", bus lanes, and borough-specific parking restrictions. High-Traffic Event Management: Lead operational planning for high-profile UK events (e.g., premier football matches, concerts at Wembley/O2 Arena, Wimbledon), creating specialized staging and pickup-drop-off strategies that respect local council mandates. Borough & Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with internal teams (Product, Public Affairs, Mapping) to translate the physical reality of London's diverse boroughs into technical product capabilities. Community Integration & Risk Mitigation: Partner with Marketing and Public Affairs to build trusted relationships with TfL, local emergency services, and community groups, proactively de-risking operational friction.

You Have
Experience: Bachelor’s degree plus 5+ years of experience in operations management, urban planning, consulting, or logistics, with a focus on demand-side optimization or fleet management. Urban Complexity: Proven track record of managing operations across highly regulated, high-density urban environments or European metropolitan markets. Stakeholder Navigation: Exceptional ability to negotiate, consult, and build consensus with rigid regulatory frameworks, municipal bodies (like TfL), or local council stakeholders. Analytical Proficiency: Strong ability to leverage data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker) and data signals to drive localized operational outcomes. Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the clarity required to bridge technical engineering capabilities with public-sector requirements. Safety-First, Local-First Philosophy: A steadfast commitment to safety-centric fleet orchestration that prioritizes the unique safety profiles of London pedestrians, cyclists, and iconic black cabs.

We Prefer
UK/London Market Expertise: Deep understanding of London’s transit ecosystem, traffic management acts, and micro-mobility trends. Industry Background: Experience in Ride-sharing, Autonomous Vehicles (AV), or high-growth TNC/logistics industries operating within the UK. Urban Diplomacy & Public Policy: Background in urban design, transit planning, or public affairs with a focus on mitigating community impact in historic or space-constrained cities. Large-Scale Event Logistics: Proven ability to manage high-stakes transport logistics for major city-wide events or high-capacity venues. Data Analytics Mastery: Advanced proficiency in SQL and spatial data analysis to monitor market health and map complex demand patterns.
Travel Requirement
15-30% of the time
The expected base salary range for this full-time position is listed below. Actual starting pay will be based on job-related factors, including exact work location, experience, relevant training and education, and skill level. Waymo employees are also eligible to participate in Waymo’s discretionary annual bonus program, equity incentive plan, and generous Company benefits program, subject to eligibility requirements.

£92,000—£96,500 GBP
