Job Description: Your Work Shapes the World at Caterpillar Inc.
When you join Caterpillar, you're joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do – but also about each other. We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities. We don't just talk about progress and innovation here – we make it happen, with our customers, where we work and live. Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.
We're looking for a Demand & Orders Analyst to join our global team responsible for forecasting and demand planning across the Manufacturing Parts Node (MPN) Network. Whether you are at the beginning of your career or looking to level up, this is a great opportunity to build your analytical skills in a global environment. You'll work with large datasets, identify forecasting trends and risks, and provide insights that help drive planning and business decisions across the network.
Why This Role Matters
Your analysis will help improve forecast accuracy, support supply chain planning, and enable better business decisions across the organization.
What You Will Do
- Monitor and analyze forecast performance across the MPN Network, identifying trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Investigate forecast anomalies and collaborate with business partners to develop corrective actions that improve forecast accuracy
- Collect, interpret, and analyze data using tools such as Excel, Power BI, and SQL to support planning and decision-making
- Partner with global cross-functional teams to support forecasting processes and drive alignment across the network
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying process enhancement opportunities and supporting project execution
- Provide forecasting insights that support inventory management, supply chain planning, and the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
