Demand Planning Manager Department: Purchasing & Planning Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time Location: Office, Avonmouth/Filton

Description Due to promotion within the team, ELEMIS are looking for a Demand Planning Manager. Reporting to the Global Planning Director, you will lead and manage people, processes, and systems across Demand Planning to ensure operational excellence and alignment with business strategy. This role will see you developing and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with Supply Chain Planning partners, markets and other cross-functional stakeholders to drive integrated planning.

This role is accountable for the effective deployment and optimisation of Demand Planning resources, ensuring demand plans are as accurate as possible and aligned with commercial objectives. This enables business leaders to make informed, data-driven decisions that realign execution with strategy in a dynamic and fast-changing environment.

The role supports the organisation in balancing service, cost, inventory, sustainability, and risk to deliver sustainable business performance.

Key Responsibilities Demand Planning: Lead and govern the Global Demand Planning process, ensuring activities are executed on time, to the required quality standards, and in line with business objectives. Evaluate the impact of market changes, commercial initiatives, and incremental growth opportunities on the Global Demand Plan, providing clear scenario analysis and recommendations. Proactively identify, analyse, and mitigate demand risks and opportunities to protect service, revenue, and inventory performance. Develop and drive a consensus-based Global Demand Plan through structured cross-functional collaboration, optimising the balance between market opportunity and supply network capability. Partner with cross-functional teams to manage the demand impact of new product launches, discontinuations, promotions, and key events, ensuring accurate integration into the Global Demand Plan. Own and continuously improve the Global New Product Demand Planning process, collaborating closely with New Product Development, Brand, Marketing, Commercial, and the wider Global Planning team. Define, monitor, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), providing actionable insights to support performance improvement and decision-making. Lead continuous improvement initiatives across planning tools, reporting, processes, capability, and ways of working to ensure alignment with corporate strategy and operational excellence goals. Support the S&OP Manager in the ongoing evolution and governance of the S&OP Demand Review process, ensuring alignment and transparency across all regions. Global Gifting: Support the Global Gifting Planner in ensuring that gifting Critical Paths are maintained, tracked, and clearly communicated to all relevant stakeholders. Proactively identify and escalate any timeline risks that may impact SIW (Stock Into Warehouse) dates. Partner with the Global Gifting Planner to review processes, identify improvement opportunities, and drive efficiency savings. Establish, monitor, and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to measure performance and delivery against gifting objectives. People Leadership: Manage and develop Demand Planners and the Global Gifting Planner, providing clear direction, prioritisation, and support to ensure delivery of business objectives. Partner with the US Demand Planner(s) to align regional processes with Global Planning standards, driving consistency, transparency, and best practice adoption. Coach and mentor direct reports to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement, building functional expertise and future capability. Develop and implement structured training and development plans to support individual growth and succession planning. Influence and elevate team capability, driving increased planning maturity, cross-functional collaboration, and accountability. Cultivate a high performing, aligned team culture through clear performance targets, regular one-to-ones, and ongoing coaching in areas such as mindset, negotiation, stakeholder management, and conflict resolution. Contribute to strategic supply chain and cross-functional business initiatives, supporting delivery of transformation and continuous improvement projects. Support the implementation and optimisation of new systems and technologies (e.g., Advanced Planning Systems (APS)), ensuring effective adoption across the planning function. Act as a Super User and key stakeholder for the Advanced Planning System, providing subject matter expertise, governance, and user support. Champion change management initiatives, influencing stakeholders to adopt new systems, processes, and ways of working to drive sustainable performance improvement. Sustainability Responsibility: Ensure all duties carried out and actions completed in every aspect of your role, contribute to the short and long-term Sustainability Goals set-forth by the ELEMIS - Climate, Biodiversity & People Pillars.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Technical planning skills, preferably within an FMCG environment. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into high-level analysis and demand planning. Ability to use technology tools that facilitate cross-functional collaboration. Strong attention to detail, focuses effort on data accuracy and integrity to deliver the results efficiently. Collaborative approach, able to work cross functionally and bring people together to deliver results. Demonstrated ability to coach team members, building skills and capability within the team, with particular focus on succession planning. Influencing stakeholders (both internal and external) towards desired business outcomes.
