About The Role
Job Purpose
The Demand Planning Manager plays a key leadership role within the S&OP function. Primarily responsible for leading the Demand Planning team and maintaining a rolling 18 month consensus forecast for the business, working in close collaboration with internal Sales and Commercial Finance teams and externally working on collaborative forecasting and partnership with customers across all sales channels. A key contributor to the S&OP process, driving the monthly Demand Review cycle and ensuring that the daily, weekly, monthly cadence of planning activity delivers the best latest estimate, within expected forecast accuracy and bias parameters and supporting overall customer service.
Key Result Area / Principal Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead, motivate and manage a team consisting of 4 multi-channel demand planners who create forecasts at customer and product level, based on available historic and future data, as well as collaborating with sales leads and key customer contacts.
- Effectively partner and collaborate with the heads of commercial, including customer and brand marketing.
- Challenge validity of forecasts constructively with heads of sales.
- Lead the forecast reviews at a higher level, ensuring the team conduct seasonality and trend analysis to drive improvement in forecasts and actions within the business. Considering trends at customer, channel, brand and pack type level providing a rounded view of forecast volume evolution for the business.
- Own the customer relationship within Supply Chain, building rapport and close bonds with customer counterparts and leveraging the relationship to drive optimised outcomes for the customer and BrewDog.
- Drive continuous improvement within demand planning, focussing on data, tools, processes and customer plans to improve ways of working and forecast accuracy.
- Develop effective forecast models and processes, to improve forecast accuracy and bias.
- Ensure forecasts for New Product Introduction are regularly reviewed and maintained by the team, with any issues escalated within the business.
- Ensure planning parameters in all relevant systems are maintained accurately & in line with agreed service level agreements with customers or external warehouses.
- Assist in developing annual sales budgets, working closely with commercial and finance teams.
- Measure & monitor demand forecasting KPIs and work with Sales teams to drive improvements in accuracy, bias, working capital and customer service.
- Establish and facilitate a weekly, monthly, quarterly pattern of sales clinics, customer reviews and channel reviews to drive the quality of forecast inputs and ensure that clear tracking is in place to provide awareness and understanding of forecast volume movements and their potential impact on Supply Chain and Financial performance.
- Own the demand planning part of S&OP, creating content for the demand reviews and working to continually improve the quality of insight or broaden the horizon of concern of the S&OP to drive end to end collaboration and an integrated business plan.
- Developing the team through regular reviews, objective setting and coaching. Acting as a subject matter expert and sharing knowledge and experience to upskill other team members.
- Responsible for recruitment in the demand planning team.
- Develop training materials and roll out across the team.
- Create standard practises for the team members, that help to improve process, and ensure consistency and standardisation of work. Enabling cross-skilling and depth of cover within the team.
- Create a collaborative culture within the demand planning team.
- Act as a champion for the S&OP process encouraging adoption across the business.

Key Relationships - Internal & External
- Key stakeholders within the wider supply chain team are the S&S team, supply planning, supply chain director, operations director, and the Supply Planning Manager.
- Other key internal stakeholders include Senior Leadership team, NPD, sales teams, customer / brand marketing, finance and production.
- Principle external relations are peers in customers.

- Ensure that Health and Safety guidelines and fire regulations are strictly adhered to at all times.

- Complete online or face to face training as and when required.

About You
Qualifications & Specific Training
- Training in Demand Planning techniques is desirable e.g. APICS qualified or similar.
- Educated to degree level or equivalent in numerate subject is desirable.
Experience
- Significant experience as a Demand Planner or Demand Planning Manager required, ideally in an FMCG environment.
- Prior experience in a leadership role is desirable.
- Experience in a customer-facing role with evidence of prior customer collaboration.
Knowledge
- Understanding of demand planning techniques, including seasonality, statistics and forecasting models.
- Experience across multiple Demand Planning software platforms.
- In depth understanding of the S&OP process.
- Understanding of the planning functions within supply chain, and how they affect other areas and vice-versa.
