Rotherwood Recruitment are currently recruiting for an experienced Dementia Lead Nurse (RGN/RMN) on behalf of a well-established care provider in Leeds.
This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate and experienced Registered Nurse who is passionate about delivering outstanding dementia care while leading and supporting a dedicated nursing and care team.
You'll play a key role in ensuring residents receive safe, high-quality, person-centred care within a specialist dementia unit, while promoting dignity, independence and wellbeing.
The Role
As the Dementia Lead Nurse, you will oversee the day-to-day clinical management of the dementia unit, providing leadership to the care team while delivering hands-on nursing care. You will ensure care is delivered in line with best practice, CQC standards and the NMC Code of Conduct.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the day-to-day running of the dementia unit.
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate individualised care plans.
- Complete clinical risk assessments and ensure care plans remain up to date.
- Safely administer and manage medications.
- Monitor residents' health and wellbeing, responding appropriately to changing needs.
- Maintain accurate electronic care records and documentation.
- Lead, supervise and support care staff through mentoring, supervision and appraisals.
- Work collaboratively with GPs, families and multidisciplinary professionals.
- Complete clinical audits and contribute to continuous quality improvement.
- Promote dignity, respect, choice and independence for every resident.
- Ensure compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding and infection prevention standards.

What We're Looking For
- Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with a valid NMC PIN.
- Previous experience working within dementia care.
- Experience leading or supervising a nursing or care team.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Strong clinical knowledge and decision-making abilities.
- Passion for delivering exceptional dementia care.
- Flexible, reliable and able to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
