South Coast Nursing Homes is an established and successful, family owned and managed, care home company based in Worthing, West Sussex. We currently operate 9 homes across East and West Sussex. We have 414 beds having recently opened a brand-new Home in Central Worthing, named The Poets. Each registered home offers the highest standards of resident care and comfort, 24 hours – day and night, for long and short-term stays.

We are recruiting for a Dementia Wellbeing Coordinator to join our team at Berkeley Lodge, in Worthing.

Role Overview

As a dementia wellbeing coordinator you will focus on the emotional, social, and physical quality of life for people living with dementia. You will support the planning and the facilitation of person-centred activities.

Hours: 36 hrs per week – 9am - 5pm – Will include alternate weekends

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, manage, and implement individualised care and activity plans based on residents’ life histories, hobbies, and personal preference
  • Coordinate diverse, therapeutic activities (e.g., reminiscence therapy, sensory sessions, and gentle exercise) that promote dignity and independence
  • Monitor residents' cognitive and emotional wellbeing, adjusting wellbeing strategies as needed while maintaining accurate records.

Essential Skills

  • Professional or personal experience supporting individuals living with dementia. An understanding of dementia types, progression, and the impact of the condition.
  • Experience working with older people, ideally within a care home, day service, or community setting.
  • Experience in planning and facilitating person-centred activities, cognitive stimulation therapy, or therapeutic session
  • Passionate about offering superior services and want to make a difference
  • Kind and caring with a positive approach
  • Team player
  • To be able to communicate effectively both verbal and written
