Job Description SCOPE OF POSITION The Demi Chef de Partie works closely with the Chef de Partie to assist in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes within the assigned section. The role ensures high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation, while supporting the kitchen team in delivering a consistent and efficient service. The Demi Chef de Partie will take responsibility for certain kitchen tasks while maintaining strong communication and cooperation with senior chefs. RESPONSIBILITIES Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes to the highest standards, following instructions from the Chef de Partie and senior kitchen staff. Maintain portion control and presentation standards to ensure consistency in every dish produced. Ensure the quality, freshness, and consistency of all food items, monitoring stock levels and communicating any discrepancies to the Chef de Partie. Support the Chef de Partie in managing the smooth running of the section, ensuring all preparation is done on time and to the required standard. Follow all food hygiene and safety regulations as set out by the company, including maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of workstations at all times. Assist with stock rotation and proper storage of food items to prevent spoilage. Participate in kitchen cleaning and maintenance tasks, ensuring all equipment is clean, well-maintained, and in proper working order. Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen operation, including aiding other sections as needed. Attend any required training sessions and meetings to continuously improve skills and stay updated on kitchen standards. Report any kitchen or equipment issues to the Chef de Partie or senior kitchen team to ensure quick resolution. Ensure that proper personal hygiene standards are adhered to at all times and that kitchen uniforms are worn as per company guidelines. Handle customer feedback and kitchen complaints according to company policies, escalating as necessary to senior chefs. Contribute to maintaining a positive and professional kitchen environment by supporting team members and assisting with training junior staff when directed by senior chefs. Assist with monthly stocktaking and ensure accurate record-keeping, as required by the Chef de Partie.
