Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council
We’re looking for enthusiastic, motivated individuals with a good understanding of local government and an interest in democratic processes to join Sandwell’s friendly and supportive Democratic Services Team.
Working at the heart of the organisation, you’ll play a key role in helping to deliver strong, effective governance. You’ll support councillors and senior officers to ensure decision-making is transparent, efficient and well-organised, contributing directly to the delivery of the Council Plan.
You’ll administer a range of Council meetings, prepare agendas and reports, take clear and accurate minutes, and help ensure the Council operates in line with legislation and its Constitution. You’ll have opportunities to develop your knowledge and skills, gaining valuable experience in local democracy, governance and political decision-making.
We’re looking for team players who are flexible, organised and proactive, with great communication skills, political awareness and confidence working with people at all levels. A positive attitude, attention to detail and a willingness to learn will help you thrive in this role.
