Company Description

Queensway Dental Laboratory is a private dental laboratory focused on delivering high-quality dental restorations and services to meet a wide range of clinical needs. The team works closely with dental professionals to provide precise, reliable, and aesthetically pleasing results. In addition to serving dental practices directly, the laboratory offers lab-to-lab services with diverse options to support other dental laboratories. Queensway Dental Laboratory is committed to craftsmanship, consistency, and responsive service for its partners and clients.

Role Description

The Dental Ceramist role is a full-time, on-site position based in Billingham. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Designing, building, and finishing ceramic dental restorations such as crowns, bridges, and veneers, ensuring accurate fit, function, and natural aesthetics.
  • Collaborating with dental technicians and clinicians to interpret prescriptions, shade guides, and digital scans, and to make necessary adjustments.
  • Handling laboratory equipment and materials.
  • Maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
  • Following quality standards and health and safety procedures.
  • Contributing to case planning.
  • Troubleshooting complex cases.
  • Supporting continuous improvements in laboratory workflows.

  • Strong laboratory skills with experience in handling dental materials, tools, and equipment.
  • Proficiency in dental technology, including the fabrication and layering of ceramic restorations.
  • Understanding of dentistry principles related to occlusion, function, and aesthetics.
  • Experience working as or with laboratory technicians in a dental laboratory environment.
  • Knowledge of dentures and other removable prosthetic solutions is an advantage.
  • Relevant qualification in dental technology or a related field; GDC registration or equivalent is beneficial.
  • Attention to detail, manual dexterity, and the ability to produce consistent, high-quality work.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with clinical and technical teams.
  • Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to evolving materials and digital workflows.
