Dental Hygienist

Dental Hygienist – Self-Employed (Part-Time) at Amber Valley Dental Practice

Amber Valley Dental Practice is seeking a motivated and patient-focused Dental Hygienist to join our welcoming, well-established independent dental practice in Swanwick, Derbyshire.

We are offering a part-time, self-employed role working Thursdays, with an established patient list, strong nursing support, and the chance to become part of a friendly and experienced team.


Role Details

  • Position: Dental Hygienist
  • Working Day: Thursday
  • Hours: 8:30 am – 5:00 pm
  • Start Date: As soon as possible
  • Pay: Competitive hourly rate, dependent on experience
  • Location: Swanwick, Alfreton, Derbyshire
  • Patient Base: Established NHS and private list
  • Job Type: Part-time

The Role

The successful applicant will:

  • Provide high-quality preventive and periodontal care, ensuring patients maintain excellent oral health
  • Deliver a caring and professional experience
  • Work with an established patient list, collaborating with dentists, dental nurses, and the reception team to ensure outstanding patient care

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform professional mechanical plaque removal and preventive care
  • Provide periodontal treatment and maintenance
  • Educate and motivate patients to improve their oral health practices
  • Offer treatment under referral and direct access arrangements where applicable
  • Maintain accurate and detailed clinical records
  • Work closely with the wider clinical team
  • Adhere to cross-infection and decontamination protocols

Requirements

Fully essential requirements include:

  • GDC registration as a Dental Hygienist
  • UK clinical experience
  • Valid indemnity cover
  • Enhanced DBS certificate
  • Up-to-date CPD (Continuing Professional Development)
  • Hepatitis B immunisation
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Clinical references
