Job Description: Dental Hygienist (Rayleigh, Essex)

At The Essex Smile Centre, we’re seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Dental Hygienist to join our established dental practice in Rayleigh, Essex.

This is an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient oral health outcomes while working within a supportive and collaborative clinical environment.


The Role

  • Tuesday & Wednesday surgery availability
  • Delivering high-quality patient care while managing your own patient list and working alongside experienced dentists and support staff, providing comprehensive dental hygiene services
  • Performing comprehensive dental hygiene treatments within your scope of practice, managing an established and diverse patient list, ensuring continuity of care, and building strong therapeutic relationships
  • Conducting thorough patient assessments, identifying oral health concerns, and developing individualised treatment plans in collaboration with the clinical team
  • Providing evidence-based oral health education and preventative advice to patients, promoting positive behavioural change
  • Collaborating effectively with dentists and dental nurses to ensure seamless patient care

What We’re Looking For

  • GDC registration as a Dental Hygienist
  • Diploma in Dental Hygiene or equivalent recognised qualification
  • Demonstrable experience delivering dental hygiene treatments within scope of practice
  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse patient groups
  • Confidence in patient assessment, treatment planning, and clinical decision-making
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive and proactive approach to collaborative working
