Dental Nursing Apprenticeship Level 3 - Rodericks Weston Favell Dental Practice

This is an exciting opportunity for an apprentice dental nurse to join a friendly practice. The role involves providing chairside support and a high level of oral health care to patients, offering the first step to starting a rewarding career in Dental Nursing.

During the Dental Nurse Apprenticeship, you will receive ongoing support, development, and training from both the dental practice and the training provider (Aspiration Training) to equip you with the skills and knowledge required to qualify and have a successful career in dental nursing. Study will be online with regular teaching and 1-2-1 sessions, with off-the-job training provided during paid working hours.

Requirements

  • GCSE in English (grade 4)
  • GCSE in Maths (grade 4)
  • Relevant qualifications and industry experience are welcome and can be used to adjust the apprenticeship.

  • A passion and desire to work within the dental sector is essential, and you should not be put off by the sight of blood.
  • Research your public transport route to ensure a regular service is available.
  • A course of Hepatitis B vaccines is required.
  • A clear enhanced DBS check is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the dentist in providing safe and effective treatments to patients.
  • Providing patients with a high level of care.
  • Setting up and cleaning the surgery.
  • Sterilising instruments.
  • Updating patient records.
  • Maintaining equipment.
  • Preparing instruments and materials for various treatments.
  • Adhering to practice policies and procedures.
  • Utilising VR Technology.
  • Assist the Dentist by providing chairside support, ensuring the correct equipment and materials are available.
  • Provide support and assistance to a wide array of patients.
  • Follow practice health and safety and infection control procedures.
  • Keep clinical areas and all equipment and instruments clean, tidy, and disinfected.
  • Accurately complete patient clinical records.
  • Complete all clinical daily, weekly, and monthly logs and checks.
