NHS Highland Public Dental Service Opportunity
NHS Highland Public Dental Service currently has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Dental Officer to provide services from the two clinics in the beautiful Lochaber area, Fort William and Mallaig.
About the Role
The Public Dental Service provides care to patient groups who cannot access NHS dentistry via General Dental Practitioners and the post holder will be expected to provide the full range of General Dental Services to these groups including anxious patients, so experience in delivering inhalation sedation is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide the full range of General Dental Services to priority patient groups.
- Experience in delivering inhalation sedation is desirable.
- Clinical experience of providing treatment to priority group patients and experience of providing routine general dental services is desirable.
Essential Requirements
- GDC registration as a dentist.
- Successful listing with the Health Board.
Personal Attributes
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with difficult situations and challenging patient behaviours in a positive manner.
Additional Information
- The post is eligible for remote and rural allowance.
- A driving licence is desirable.
