Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site Dental Therapist role based in Leicester. The Dental Therapist will provide high-quality dental care, including routine examinations within the scope of practice, scaling, polishing, and simple restorations as appropriate. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

The role involves working closely with dentists and other team members to coordinate patient care, maintain accurate clinical records, and ensure adherence to relevant guidelines and standards. The Dental Therapist will also help create a reassuring patient experience by addressing questions, explaining treatment options, and promoting ongoing oral health maintenance.

Qualifications

  • Strong clinical skills in Dental Care and Dentistry, with experience providing treatments within a Dental Therapist’s scope of practice.
  • Competence in Hygiene-related services, including scaling, polishing, and preventive care.
  • Skills in Health Promotion, with the ability to educate individuals and groups on oral health and disease prevention.
  • Commitment to high-quality Patient Care, including empathetic communication, patient education, and safeguarding.
  • Recognized qualification as a Dental Therapist and current registration with the relevant professional regulatory body (e.g., GDC or equivalent).
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols, dental radiography principles (if applicable), and clinical record-keeping standards.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team and manage a consistent full-time clinical schedule.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with attention to detail and a focus on ethical, evidence-based practice.
