Department Manager

This Role Is Tailor-Made For You Because:

As a Tory Burch Department Manager, you will be an expert in delivering on the five stages of the transformational experience through balancing ‘leader of the floor’ (TLOF) responsibilities, the daily coaching of other Sales Associates, and managing your own individual sales & client book. You will act as a leader in the store and are responsible for ‘holding down the fort’ when the GM & AGM are not available, which will at times include monitoring sales productivity, resolving customer or associate issues, and opening and/or closing duties.

Overview

Deliver the Customer Experience

  • Lead by example to create an environment that consistently delivers transformational customer experiences
  • Model a highly productive selling environment by providing consistent training & coaching to sales associates
  • Take ownership for the customer journey in your boutique – customize it for your customer demographic and develop & maintain productive customer relationships
  • Demonstrate a strong use of selling skills
  • Lead the team by example through demonstration of repeat business and maximization of sales through proactive customer outreach
  • Maintain a “One Company” perspective on charge sends, returns, and other such transactions that are critical to a positive customer experience

Represent the Brand

  • Understand and communicate the Tory Burch brand aesthetic, brand philosophy and lifestyle to the associates and the customer
  • Emulate the brand aesthetic by embodying a strong sense of fashion and an enthusiastic attitude
  • Contribute to maintaining all brand and operating standards to support brand consistency
  • Assist in maintaining store presentation standards
  • Leverage in-store technology to ensure every customer’s experience is transformational

Operational Excellence

  • Perform store opening and closing procedures including counting register funds, completing bank deposits, opening and closing the registers and securing the facility
  • Accurately process all POS transactions, capture of employee information, and inventory functions such as transfers, receiving, shipments, repairs and damages to maintain the integrity of the inventory
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures with a focus on loss prevention and operational excellence

Drive the Business & Deliver Results

  • Achievement of personal sales and metric goals
  • Build and maintain new and existing client relationships
  • Maintains a solid, organized client book which furthers your customer relationships and generates consistent, proactive sales volume
  • Manage your people resources to maximize sales, traffic flow, floor coverage and customer engagement
  • Manage the sales floor with agility, changing direction & continuously improving based on key indicators and lessons learned
  • Be aware of and react to the rhythm of your business, not just relying on walk-in traffic but through clienteling, outreach and event opportunities

PRIOR EXPERIENCE NEEDED

  • 2-4 yrs. experience in a high volume, customer-driven retail environment
  • Strong personal selling and customer relations experience
  • Previous sales leadership and motivation experience
  • Ability to lift (at least 30 lbs), carry, push, pull, squat, kneel, twist, turn, climb, crawl, reach and bend.
  • Availability and flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, store openings and closings, to meet the needs of the business.
