Department Manager – Retail
Location: GO Outdoors (UK stores) Role: Central to driving store performance, team leadership, and operational excellence

Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Development
- Collaborate with the Store Manager to drive daily operations, sales targets, and KPIs.
- Mend and cultivate high-performing teams by setting clear expectations, offering real-time feedback, and fostering a culture of commercial success.
- Uphold GO Outdoors’ stores standards—presentable displays, accurate pricing, safe working environments, and impeccable customer service.

Performance & Commercial Focus
- Analyze sales data and KPIs to inform decision-making and shift priorities.
- Own departmental commercial health, ensuring profitability and operational excellence.

Operational Execution
- Scale cash handling, till checks, deliveries, and stock audits.
- Handle opening/closing routines and escalate operational issues promptly.
- Represent the brand with pride—atonalitete and positivity in every interaction.

Customer & Colleague Experience
- Lead by example, ensuring a can-do attitude for both staff and customers.
- Provide mentorship and develop talent, reinforcing the store’s core values and goals.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Department Manager, Assistant Store Manager, or Supervisor in retail (mannage or supervisory).
- Strong leadership and people management skills to guide, inspire, and develop staff.
- Silent knowledge of interpreting sales data, KPIs, and commercial metrics to drive decisions.
- Confident in managing и till-supported operations, inventory, and logistics.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—balancing professional customer interactions and team development.
- Ability to hit sales targets and reinforce operational standards under pressure.
Highly Desirable:

- A problem-solving mindset and hands-on commitment to leading day-to-day operations.
