Role Overview
At VoCoVo, we’re on a mission to help retailers communicate better, operate more efficiently, and deliver exceptional experiences to their customers. We’re delivering a major global initiative to upgrade thousands of customer systems to the latest software and firmware standards.
We’re looking for a Deployment Consultant to join us on a 6-month fixed-term contract, working as part of our Delivery team to:
- Remotely deploy software upgrades across our global customer estate during planned maintenance windows.
- Monitor progress, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth, successful upgrades.
- Work closely with Technical Care, Product, and Delivery teams to support seamless customer transitions.
This is a fast-paced, dynamic role where no two weeks will be the same—you’ll work with diverse customer environments, technologies, and deployment schedules. Full training will be provided on VoCoVo’s systems, deployment processes, and products.
Ideal for someone who thrives on autonomy, enjoys technical problem-solving, and takes pride in delivering exceptional outcomes for customers.
What We’re Looking For
You’ll need:
- Experience with Linux systems and a solid understanding of networking fundamentals, including connectivity troubleshooting.
- Ability to follow technical documentation, deployment plans, and established processes with high accuracy.
- A methodical approach to problem-solving, with strong troubleshooting skills and confidence in escalation strategies.
- Excellent written communication, including detailed documentation, exception reporting, and shift handovers.
- Highly organised and reliable, with the ability to manage workload independently and deliver consistently high-quality work.
- Comfortable working autonomously during evening shifts (15:00–23:00 GMT) with minimal supervision.
- Adaptability to manage changing schedules, customer environments, and business priorities.
- A background in technical support, operations, or deployment-focused roles is advantageous.
- Exposure to remote device management, software deployments, or firmware upgrades would be beneficial.
- Familiarity with retail technology environments or large-scale multi-site estates is a plus.
- Basic scripting experience (Bash/Python) is advantageous but not essential.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
