We are currently looking for a Depot Manager to join our busy depot in Grays, Essex.
As a Depot Manager you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the depot, overseeing our teams of engineers and hire desk staff to ensure we meet the daily demands of our varied customer base.
The role will be based in our Wakefield depot and comes with a competitive salary, company vehicle and 25 days paid annual leave (plus Bank Holidays).
Responsibilities Include (but Are Not Restricted To) The Following
- Ensuring all work in the Depot is adequately planned and organised in line with current Health & Safety legislation and John F Hunt Power Policies and accreditations
- Managing the workload of our team of engineers and hire desk staff
- Liaising with the Regional Operations Director to maintain equipment levels in line with upcoming workloads
- Route planning for both internal and external vehicles, ensuring safe delivery and collection of equipment at all times
- Carrying out inductions for new team members, providing staff with all the necessary PPE and support to carry out their daily tasks
- Updating staff with any new procedures by holding regular toolbox talks
- Ensuring adequate fire, first aid and emergency evacuation procedures have been implemented and maintained and every John F Hunt Power employee is aware of the requirements and procedures

- Depot Management experience within the hire industry
- Experience/knowledge of temporary power would be advantageous in this role
- Is a strong manager of people, able to supervise a team of engineers, drivers, hire controllers and any sub contracted employees
- Sound commercial awareness and judgement
- Ability to prioritise work according to the demands of a busy depot
- Full UK driving licence held for minimum of 3 years
- Ability to communicate with internal and external contacts at all levels to ensure all clients receive excellent customer service at all times
