Job Description

The M40 motorway is just over 123kms (about 76.43 mi) long, linking London and the M25 with Birmingham, with high traffic levels ranging from 90,000 to 140,000 daily. The contract is for routine O&M services, and provision of a dedicated incident response unit. There are 110+ staff across 3 depots. The contract also includes the management of road incidents, road availability / road-space bookings, and running Network Control Centre NCC).

MISSION & MAIN ACTIVITIES: The Highway Maintenance Depot Support Co-ordinator will provide support to the Day Works Manager in the form of day-to-day admin and maintenance tasks in the depot. The Post holder will have basic computer skills and is required to utilise various Microsoft software packages to maintain records, liaise with the Facilities coordinator and the fleet coordinator to ensure timely administration of depot tasks. The Depot Support Co-ordinator is to ensure that the yard is safe, efficient, and operationally ready for daily activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work in various weather conditions. A knowledge of highway maintenance is desirable but not essential as training will be given. Responsibilities: · Compile and check work completion paperwork each day to ensure consistency and completeness. · Liaise with the Facilities coordinator to ensure depot tasks are completed and the correct paperwork is filed. · Follow all safety regulations, use personal protective equipment (PPE), and report any hazards immediately. · Assist with deliveries, coordinate material and equipment requests, and support daily operations ensuring the correct paperwork is sent to the relevant department. · Maintain accurate records of materials and equipment, complete inventory paperwork, and communicate effectively with the team. · Carryout general depot maintenance activities including, vegetation work, litter picking and painting. · Liaise with the Fleet Coordinator for vehicle replacements, new vehicles and general repairs to vehicles. · Review Operational activities and ensure data is captured and records produce. · Produce requisition forms for ordering of materials for the depot and liaise with other team members for delivery. · Carryout general depot admin support work. · Ensure the access gate to each depot is manned and answered in a timely manner · Promote and develop teamwork. · To carry out such other related duties as may be required.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL POSSES: · Experience in general maintenance activities · Basic computer skills. · Full UK Driving Licence · HGV Licence (Not essential but desirable) · Telehandler/ Forklift experience (Not essential but desirable) · Physically fit, to assist in general maintenance and unloading of deliveries. · Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. · Excellent verbal and written communication skills. · A collaborative mindset and commitment to promoting health and safety. · Willingness to undertake internal training, including road space booking and environmental systems.
