Job Role
We are seeking a highly-skilled school leader passionate about improving life chances through committed leadership of change and improvement, ensuring positive outcomes for children and young people.
As the Depute Headteacher in Fife, you will:
- Support the Headteacher in contributing to the school’s strategic vision.
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to implement and pursue objectives set in school policies.
- Provide leadership in developing a self-improving school community beyond operational levels.
Qualification, Registration, and Skills Requirements

You must demonstrate:
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and leadership ability (both strategic and operational) to drive school improvement.
- A commitment to professional learning, showing how continuous growth impacts your practice.
- Full General Teaching Council for Scotland (GTCS) registration:
- For primary posts, registration in Primary.
- For secondary posts, registration in secondary for relevant subjects.
- Professional conduct in line with GTCS standards and standards for Teachers in Scotland.
- Provisional GTCS registration may be considered for temporary Class Teacher positions.
For further education positions, GTCS registration (primary or secondary) is required.
⚠️ Before starting, you must obtain:
- Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership via Disclosure Scotland.
