Deputy Manager - Senior & Dementia Care (Full-time)
Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Manager to join our care home team specialising in senior care and dementia support. The successful candidate will assist the management team in delivering high-quality care services, ensuring the well-being of residents with diverse needs—including Alzheimer’s and other cognitive impairments.
This leadership opportunity is ideal for professionals with nursing or care home experience looking to develop their skills within a supportive and compassionate environment.
The Deputy Manager will oversee staff supervision, care planning, compliance, and a dignified, person-centred approach in a dynamic care setting.
Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership
- Assist the management team in the day-to-day running of the care home, ensuring smooth and efficient service delivery.
- Coordinate care team workflows to maintain exceptional care standards.

Staff Supervision & Development
- Supervise and support care staff, promoting best practices in elderly and dementia care.
- Lead staff training programmes on:
- Dementia care
- Alzheimer’s support strategies
- Medication administration
- Person-centred approaches

Care Planning & Resident Wellbeing
- Develop, implement, and review tailored care plans for individual residents.
- Support residents in daily activities, fostering independence while maintaining safety.

Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and quality standards.
- Manage medication administration in line with prescribed protocols, maintaining accurate records.

Collaboration & Coordination
- Liaise with families, healthcare professionals, and external agencies to coordinate comprehensive care.
- Assist in staffing planning, including rota management and recruitment support.
Key Requirements
- Experience (Essential)
- Proven experience in assisted living or nursing homes, with a preference for senior or dementia specialisation.
- Supervisory/management experience within a care setting.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance and care planning processes for elderly and dementia care.
- Experience with medication administration and managing complex care needs (e.g., Alzheimer’s disease).
