Deputy Centre Manager (Maternity cover)

Duration: Full-time, fixed term contract – 9 months
Salary: £44,310.00 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week (shift pattern Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 18:00pm. Occasionally there may be a requirement to work weekends and shift work or however this time will be taken back in lieu.
Base Location: King’s Commercial Services, King’s Academy, 1-5 Hinton Road, Brixton, London, SE24 0HJ. Office Based Role
Accountable to: KCS Head of Education and Training

This position offers an excellent opportunity for a high performing Deputy Manager or an experienced Operations/Event Manager seeking their next challenge. The successful candidate will have the chance to develop their leadership skills, contribute to exciting service developments, and support service transformation within a complex and fast-paced environment. We particularly welcome applications from individuals with strong event management experience, as well as proficiency in outbound prospecting and digital marketing.

King’s Academy provides a modern, high-quality learning environment for nurses, midwives and allied health professionals, delivering both in-person and developing digital education programmes. In the last year, King’s Academy has hosted over 300 courses and welcomed approximately 6,500 delegates, with significant expansion planned across national and international markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Centre Operations: Support the effective daily running of King’s Academy by helping to coordinate facilities, learning spaces, staffing, equipment and operational activity.
  • Room Hire, Events and Client Experience: Support the planning and delivery of room hire, meetings, training sessions and events while providing a professional experience for clients, delegates and visitors.
  • Courses and Education Programmes: Support the administration, delivery and monitoring of King’s Academy courses, commercial programmes and Kingston related activity.
  • Commercial Growth and Business Development: Contribute to income growth by supporting enquiries, bookings, client relationships, course sales and room hire conversion.
  • Marketing and Communications: Support promotional activity that raises awareness of King’s Academy’s courses, facilities, room hire services and wider training offer.
  • Team Support and Deputising: Support the Centre Manager with team coordination, operational priorities and deputising responsibilities when required.
  • Service Improvement: Identify and support practical improvements that strengthen client experience, course administration, event delivery and operational effectiveness.

Benefits:

  • Private pension: The role is eligible for the workplace pension scheme, the employee contribution will constitute 6% of their annual salary. The Employer will match the employee contribution.
  • Annual leave: 30 days plus Bank Holidays (Pro rata)
