Deputy Chef Manager

Contract: Full Time - Perm

Hours: 37 hours per week

Salary: £26,489 per hour

Shift Times: 8am/8.30am to 5pm/5.30pm

Weekdays & Alternate Weekends

We are seeking an Experienced Chef to join our Care Home Pinewood Lodge in South Oxhey, Watford as a Deputy Chef Manager. If you’re passionate about good food and want your work to genuinely make a difference, this could be the perfect role for you.

Exciting developments are underway at Pinewood Lodge, which will soon relocate to a brand-new, purpose-built care home in the South Oxhey area at Furzewood Lodge Care Home. The modern facility has been thoughtfully designed to provide an excellent working environment and will include a newly fitted, fully equipped commercial kitchen.

What You’ll Bring

  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety in the workplace
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and safe working practices
  • Willingness to complete relevant training and ongoing CPD
  • Experience in food preparation, cooking and service
  • Familiarity with hygiene standards in a professional kitchen
  • Ability to prepare homely, nutritious meals that meet a wide range of dietary needs
  • A team-focused attitude and good communication skills

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring all food safety and hygiene standards are met
  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes to a consistently high standard
  • Support and guide kitchen staff, helping to build skills and confidence
  • Manage food production processes to maintain smooth workflow and quality control
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies
