Job Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and dynamic senior nursing leader to join Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as Interim Deputy Chief Nurse – Lead for Digital Transformation on a 9-month fixed-term basis.
This executive leadership role will provide dedicated nursing and allied professional leadership during a critical period of organisational transformation. The postholder will lead the nursing and allied health professional contribution to the Trust's Electronic Patient Record (EPR) programme, support the expansion of digitally enabled clinical pathways, and contribute to preparations for the move to the Centre for Advancing Eye Health (Oriel). The role will ensure that digital transformation is clinically led, safe, patient-focused and aligned with the Trust's quality, safety and governance priorities.
The successful candidate will act as a trusted adviser to the Executive Team and Trust Board, helping to shape the future of digitally enabled care across the organisation while building sustainable digital capability within the workforce.
Main duties of the job
The Interim Deputy Chief Nurse – Lead for Digital Transformation will provide strategic leadership for the delivery and adoption of digital programmes across the Trust, with a particular focus on the Electronic Patient Record (EPR) implementation.

Key Responsibilities Include
- Leading the nursing and allied professional contribution to digital transformation programmes and EPR delivery.
- Acting as Senior Responsible Owner (SRO) for key EPR workstreams, including training, testing and end-user device deployment.
- Providing executive oversight of digital clinical safety, governance, risk management and quality assurance arrangements.
- Ensuring strong multidisciplinary engagement, clinical ownership and successful adoption of digital systems and workflows.
- Leading the development and optimisation of digital clinical pathways to improve patient safety, experience and operational efficiency.
- Supporting workforce transformation through capability development, role redesign and digital readiness initiatives.
- Representing the Trust across regional and national digital, informatics and transformation networks.
- Providing assurance and reporting to the Executive Team, Trust Board and programme governance groups regarding programme delivery, risk and benefits realisation.

Detailed Job Description And Main Responsibilities
This role offers a unique opportunity to influence one of the most significant transformation programmes in the Trust's history, shaping the future of digital healthcare delivery within a world-leading specialist organisation. You will work alongside senior clinical, operational and digital leaders to deliver sustainable change and support the successful implementation of technologies that will transform patient care.

Education
Essential criteria
- First Level Degree relevant to healthcare
- Master’s degree or equivalent
- Leadership programme/qualification
Desirable criteria
- Doctoral level study or equivalent experience
Experience
Essential criteria
- Senior leadership experience at Band 8D or 9 level (or equivalent)
- Significant experience of Digital Transformation (including EPR), Clinical informatics, Large-scale organisational change and workforce transformation
